I have found a way to get my T1 faster. I'm going to get Frame Relay. SBC quoted me $900 a month plus $400 setup fee. I will only need 10 people to sign up with my WISP to get it. Then with 30 people online, it will be paid. I can always get a full T1 later if I need it. This will still get me the 1.5Mb/s but its a shared switch. Should be fine for now.

Well, I had a small outage today. Q-West had a router problem and it took me down for a few hours. I have a T1 with Q-West also, and its always going down too. I'll be sure that when I get my T1, it will not be with Q-West.
Jane painted the chicken coop today. It looks really good. She always does a good job at painting stuff. It is not done yet, but it has the first coat and that will keep the water away from the wood for now. The chickens really like it also. :-)
Fab-Corp.com pulled a boner the other day. We ordered some wireless stuff on Monday and put in Johnny's CC. Well, they charged my bank card that they had on file because . Now I have $14 in the bank and I'm really close to bouncing some stuff. This sucks. Two days ago, I called them to have it fixed. They say they have it fixed but it still is not in my bank yet. I don't know what is going on. I may have to look for a better wireless harware provider for my business.
Today I received my wireless stuff. New antenna, cable, and PCMCIA Wireless card. I grabbed the PCMCIA card and plugged it into my laptop. This laptop was configured with a PCMCIA ethernet (3com) as a Debian Linux MP3 server. I booted the laptop up and it connected to the network using the wireless card. I'm online with it, without doing any driver install or configuration. Woohooo!
Now I have a laptop that I can do site survey's with. I can even take it on a roof if I need to. Cool.
Here is something else that I would not mind getting for Christmas. This NVidia GeForce3 video card for my Mac Cube will boost the performance of my Mac a lot. I would even be able to play video games on it. My upgrade path is currently: CPU -> Video Card -> Another 512MB ram -> 22" or 23" Cinema Display.
Today I put my 12DBi Omni back up. With the 15.4DBi I was getting 13% signal at 3 miles. It was really bad. With the 12DBi back up I'm getting around 30% signal. Much better. So thats that. Anyone want to buy a 15.4DBi Omni for $150? Its only one week old...
I'm using Eudora email right now. Why? Mail.app blew up today. It has been getting slower and slower. also there is no way to use multiple identities in it without having multiple accounts.
Eudora, its crazy. I dont think that I can stand it. It tells me there is new email, but I can't find it. I think that it just pings each time it checks. The fonts are very hard to read. Its the uglest mail program I have ever used. No easy way to get to my mail boxes. No easy way to do anything with it.
I'm going to have to find another solution until I can get Mutt.app working.
Well, it happened. We lost a chicken. I thought that we lost them before, but this time for real. It has been a few days and I still don't see it. What I'm thinking that happened is, the chicken jumped over the gate and then got grabed by a coyote or dog. It was our favorite one also. It would come up to us and let us pet it. I guess that is one less egg a day then. I went walking around to see if I could see any remains, but I didn't. I only found two feathers and some paw prints near the fence.
Today I put my new antenna up. It was really fun. I got to climb up a pole 32 feet high[1] [2]. Its a new 15.4DBi omnidirectional. Only one problem. It does not work as well as my old 12DBi. I was thinking that it would boost the signal a bit, but in this case it did not. I am not sure why it didn't. It may be broke or something. I sent a support email to the company I bought it from to see if they know the answer. I may have to climb back up there and put the old one back on. I sure wish that it just worked better. :-(...
