Due to ease of use, I switched back to Mail.app from Mutt. I'll use it for a bit then get tired of it again. Its slow and it does not have a way to change my address depending on where the email is coming from (it does manually though). The reason I am using it is because it is a GUI with drag and drop, I can click on URL's, I can see graphics in it, I can use my iCal with it, I can use my address book with it, and searching is a lot easier. So you can see that there are a lot more goods then bads. I had to setup a bunch of email accounts on my server to use it. One email account for every email alias I have. That makes six different email accounts that I have to manage. Uhg.

I now have my new processor and video card installed. I did not think that I would see much speed increase. I have used Jane's 800MHz system and it did not seem much faster than mine. But after I booted up and started running programs, wow. Very fast. I do notice a lot of speed now. This really is nice. Now I can do a lot more without having to wait for things to refresh.

Lets just say, I'm really really really really happy.

Jane just sold a big order of Lady Jane's boots to a store in Santa Rosa. WooHoo! Around 20 boots. Good job. She also sold another one on eBay today. She has a nice little business going now. Really nice to see that. Don't forgot to pass the URL around, she needs the business to pay for my Christmas presents! ;-)

Microsoft Internet Explorer Bug

Do you see the IE Help window pop up and a command line window pop open with some text in it? If you do, your in trouble. There is a very large hole in MSIE that allows me to do whatever I want to your computer. I can run any program you have installed. Microsoft was told about this bug over six weeks ago.

I would suggest that you download and install Mozilla 1.1 ASAP.

Well, yesterday Jane got her new iPod in the mail. She is very, very happy with it. I'm glad. Now her Mac platform is complete. She is totally Mac-a-tized now.

Jane told me that she is going to buy the 800MHz processor upgrade for my Mac. I'm totally happy. She sold a large order of Lady Jane's boots and is going to use the money for Christmas. Thats cool.

Now that Jane is using a Mac, I am able to remove Windows file sharing from my servers.

We have a local file server in our home. I'm not sure if we really need it any more, but its still chugging away. I only have it because windows is so crappy. Jane would get really upset when Windows would crash and take all her stuff with it. I set up the file server so she could put all her data on it. Then when Windows crashed, we could format it and reinstall it without loss of data.

I removed SAMBA from the system and installed a program called Netatalk. It is a Apple Talk server. Its much faster than Windows sharing (mostly because Mac's don't do Windows very well). It also remembers the connect settings.

Our home is almost MS free now. As soon as Jane gets all her stuff off of her Windows box, its going to be reformatted to a Linux server.

Click to view.Could not wait. Had to open. Resistance is futile.

Anyway, Jane totally loved it. Its up and running. She is building photo books and playing on the net. I have lots of apps installed for her to use. Life is good here. (until its time to pay for it..)

Opening the box one and opening the box two.

Well, I just got Jane's Christmas present. It really ships fast. Now I have to hide it. Where oh where to hide it at. Maybe I should just wrap it up and put it in the corner. I know... Many moons to go till Christmas. I just wanted to make sure it got here in time. You know how things get clogged up at Christmas time. Anyway, I can't wait until she opens it. I'm going to freak out and make her open it early....Maybe....

Welcome to my new home page layout. This layout does not use the TABLE tag at all. Its all XHTML and CSS. I just wanted to see if I could do it. There are still some things that don't work right, like the photo's overlapping some of the elements. I'm not sure how to fix that.
