Today was not a fun day. First I find out that SBC is messing up my T1 order. Hopefully they will get it fixed and get the T1 installed very soon. SBC is one of the worse companies on the planet. Next up is my BMG50 install today. No matter what I tried, I could not get it to come up. I could not get any signal at all. So I have to order a larger antenna. I ordered the 19dBi from FAB. I sure hope it works. Then I get home to find that the database server is offline. Now I'm recoding the database to fix all the differences from PG7.2 to PG7.3. I know that 7.3 is a lot better from reading about the changes. I just wish I had the time to implement all the new stuff. Ugh.

Welcome to BMG50.com, caller.

My new toy! This little guy is really cool. I've got Debian installed on it with the wireless tools setup. I can plug this into an antenna and aim it to the perfect position. The signal strength graph is really easy to see the best alignment. It also auto-configures to whatever POP I'm at. All for the low, low price of 4 free months of service.
Uhg.... Major database tweakage.... Still recovering...
Wow! Take a look at this. It tells about the Apple OSX Services menu. I had no idea what it did. Now that I do know, it's my best friend. This is awesome.
Well, my keyboard is working now. Whew... I started to think that I would have to buy a new one. That was a close call. I've cleaned off my desk to make more room for food. Anyway, back to my previously interrupted activities.
I did a very bad thing this morning. I dumped my cereal all over my keyboard. I had to hose my keyboard out, then take it all apart. Have you ever took a Mac Pro keyboard apart? Wow, there are a lot of screws. Anyway, I took it all apart, wiped it all off and cleaned it. I let it dry for a bit, even used a hair dryer. I plugged it in and it mostly works. I still have a bit of a problem with the arrow keys. Thats where most of the milk landed.
What a mess.
The ad is working great! I've had four sales and many inquiries. I may have a few more sales from it. I just can't believe how well it's doing. I'm having a hard time keeping up with buying the equipment. I've made a new rule... Everyone gets a 5 day wait before I can install anything. That way I can have time to get the equipment. I have two customers waiting on D-Links right now. I'll have them soon though.
Today was the Silver Springs Fly In at the air port. I was thinking it was going to be a big air show event. I was thinking that there was going to be stunt flying. I even thought that there were going to be some F-18's. Nope. Just a few planes flying in circles. Nothing really interesting. All well. I had a really good time hanging out with family though. It was fun. I even got to have a BBQ steak!
I've been checking out this Modernbill Billing System for BMG50. It looks like it's a really good billing system. So far it has everything I need. It's really going to improve my billing. I can track revenue and even if people are paying. It has a todo list that I can use for new customer installs. It even has a support area. $100 bucks looks like it's worth it. I think I'll pick up a copy Monday.
My POP3 repeater went offline last night around midnight. Now I have to go out there and fix it. I can connect to the B side, but not the A side. The web server seems to be down, so I can't do a remote reboot. If I had the telnet password I could log in and reboot it, but Net Nimble will not give me access to my own equipment. I really need to crack the password and fix these things. The first thing I would do is setup a script to restart the wireless cards if they go down, or reboot if it can't reset them. The next thing would be to install ssh on them. Maybe even install WISP-Dist. It looks like a better software project.
