Mmmm Water Cooler

It's up. Took all day, but it's up. I now have a BT4000 evaporative cooler running on my roof. It's quiet, and pumps out the air flow. It's much cooler now. Today it was almost 100 in the house. That's just really bad. I'll let you know how it does tomorrow. It should be much cooler.

It's Too Hot

We are going out today to get a water cooler. It is just getting too hot here. It never went below 80 in here last night.

Our plan is to put the water cooler on a pad in the back yard and run ducting to various rooms in the house. I'm not sure how much the ductwork will cost, so we may end up putting it back up on the roof until we get the funds to do it "right".

The only problem with putting it on the roof is that it's loud and ugly. The old one would shake the whole house when it was running. The new would should be a lot better, but it would be nice to pipe the cool air into the back bedrooms.

Anyway, we need to do something about this heat!

Ok, for a while now I've been moving my domain names over to dotster. It had a really quick registration process. It was easy and fast to use. Lots of power tools for managing my domain names.

Gradually the system got slower and slower. They started adding bigger and bigger advertisements. They started pushing more and more crap that I don't want. The removed the quick register feature.

Today their system won't even come up at all. We have domain names waiting to be processed, but their CC billing system is down right now. We are losing major clients because we can't get their web sites up.

I guess it's time to move away from Dotster. Anyone have any suggestions for a good domain registry?

I've go another customer on BMG50 today. The setup went really well. I like it when things go really well. The $180 BMG50 CPE is working out really good. I just install it and it works. No hassle, not fuss.

I have another install scheduled for tuesday. It's going to be another easy one. So I only need 12 more to pay for the Frame Relay. I hope to be getting them by next month. I am going to do a door to door campaign real soon.

Jane has been very busy with school, so she has not had the time to do it. I did get business cards made though, so I think I'll just take a day and go door to door in my neighborhood. I should get at least three or four more people on that way. Then I'll work on the other 10 people next month.

Argg!

My relay at Pipers went down again. This is the new one. It has been running for almost a full week without a lock up. Then it locks up. I'm starting to think it's because of the heat. Net Nimble does not agree with me. I need to do something about it though. I think I'll wrap it in tin foil or something. The wind will blow that off though. I'm not sure what to do.

Lots of stuff going on right now. Doing a bit of a company transition. Gearing up to do some real business. I'll let you all know after I get the details work out and a site up. I'm going into the B2B business.

Weekend Road Trip
I had a good weekend. We went to CA for a wedding.

On Saturday we went to the skate parks and had a lot of fun. Sunday during the Wedding setup, I took Will and Louie to the Auburn skate park and skated for hours. We had a blast. There was not a lot of people in the park, so it was like we had it all to our selves.

The Wedding was real nice. It was at the church and there were lots of people there. After the wedding we went to the party and had Greek and Mexican food. It was good. I brought some home.

Well, now it's time to get back to work and in the swing of things....

Hot, it is

It is soooooooo hot! But not that hot. It just feels hot. It's only been 95-97. It just seems hotter. No water cooler this year. We are ruffing it. Trying to keep our spending down. It's been working out ok. I've got two small air conditioners running. One in my computer room of course, and the other in the kitchen that only runs part of the day.

I'm getting the battery charged on my bike. Soon I'll have it running. I may have to buy new coils for it. There is an electrical problem with it. I'm not sure what yet as I just got it. I should have it running soon though. Then it will be time to get my license. Fun, fun.

POP2 is online
Well, POP2 is back online. It only took about two weeks to get it going. I have the new WRIP setup with the new 200mw cards in it. So far it is looking good. I'll see tomorrow when everyone starts testing it out.

The new WRIP has been sent out. I'll have it running tomorrow night. I sure hope the new box works better than the old box. This was quite a hassle for me and my customers. It's been offline for about five days total. I had it running for a day then it died again.

The new box will have 200mw radio cards in it. They should preform a lot better.
