I've been very busy lately, and it's the kinda of busy that is boring to talking about in my journal. The journal entries are going to start dropping off soon. So, I'm just going to talk about anything.

It really sucks that Farscape isn't on SCIFI very much any more. I was really getting into the program and then they switch it all around. Right now it plays about once every three weeks. Then they put a bunch of SCIFI Channel Original movies on in place of the good stuff. Those SCIFI Channel movies are really bad. So, I've been flipping over to other channels like TLC for something to watch.

I'm still working on my Honda CBR 600. Still haven't figured out what is wrong with it. I'm very slow when it comes to that type of stuff. I guess I'm just not a gear head. I sure would like to get it running though.

The wireless network has been up and running for over a week and not a single problem. It's so nice. No downtime makes things a lot easier for me. The stress levels are starting to go down now. It's nice.

I still have another customer to setup. They are behind a few trees, so it's going to take a bigger antenna to cut through them. Hopefully it will work. I've got another customer that is pointed through some tree's and they seem to be working out just fine. I'll cross my fingers.

Well, I should get back to work now.

I put the new WRIP up on my main tower yesterday. It's working out well. The 200mw cards are really showing their strength. I had 80% signal the day before, and now I have 100% signal on my dads laptop. I hop to get the last WRIP by the end of the week. That would be nice.

I'm back from the bay area. It was quite a drive. Only took 4 hours each way this time. I'm not sure why. Normally it takes 5 hours.

It was a nice drive though. I got to see all the cities that I used to see all the time. Auburn, Sacramento, Davis, Vacaville, Concord. It was good.

I was thinking that I could get some time to skateboard. The meeting ran long and I didn't. I guess I could have if I wanted to get home very late. I just wanted to go home.

BMG50 stayed running the whole time I was gone. Wow. Even made it through a power outage. That's cool. I guess the new WRIP's are going to work out for me. I just hope that I don't run into a problem this winter with the cold....;-)

I redid www.bmg50.com again. Still looking for a good photo to use of Silver Springs. I guess I'll have to get out there and take one. I'll have to wait until the weather clears up a bit. It's been raining all day today.

I really like the new layout. It's a more professional design now.

21!

I'm up to 21 customers now! WooHoo! This is awesome. I'll have 25 customers in a few weeks. Then the T1 will be paid for. No more paying for internet access. I'm going to be saving about $400 a month now.

Still waiting for the new WRIP's from NetNimble. I just need two more. Today my main locked up again. It was only 102 out today. ;-) The new one did not lock up in the heat, but I still am not going to trust it for a while. Stupid heat.

Well, thats about it.

After fighting the WRIP over heat problem for a month, I finally get it solved then the internet goes down.

Today a transformer blew up in Reno taking out SBC's internet NOC. In turn that took out BMG50 Wireless. I was down for about five hours while they worked on the situation. From what I was told from SBC's help desk, they setup a generator until they get power restored to the facility.

Not fun for me. I had to explain to my customers that it was SBC that went down. They already think I have a flaky system as it is. This just adds to the rep that I am getting.

Hopefully the new relay's will solve the lock up problems, and I can get a month of stable service. So far I have not had one month without an incident. Let's see what August brings...

Busy Day

I signed up my 20th customer today. Just four more to go to pay for the T1. This is doing really good. I knew it would. I figure I'll be making profit by the end of August.

I also installed my first new relay in the aluminum case. No down time today and it was 100 out. We will see what the rest of the week brings.

Things are looking up in the Kenoyer home.

So far so good

Everything has been running well through the lightening storms. No downtime. No crashes. I believe that it's because it's cooler out now. I also have arrestors on the two relay's that would get hit easily. They seem to be doing their jobs. No fried hardware.

I did have another customer's radio equipment blow out the other day. Lightening blew out the ethernet on the radio, hub, and ethernet card in the computer. It's always just the ethernet that fries. I guess it was lightening. That's the day that it went out. I'll send this one back as usual.

I'm up to 19 customers. I only need 5 more and I can pay for the T1. Not too bad. I'll be saving $400 a month now also (well, it will go straight to CC's). I'm really excited that BMG50 is doing so well. I mean, I had a lot of problems, and still do, but it's still doing real good anyway. My goal is to have about 100 customers on by the end of the year. I think it's doable.

Great News

Net Nimble is sending me three new WRIP's in aluminum boxes. This should reduce the heat inside and make them more robust. This is great news, because I'll be able to concentrate on setting up customers and not rebooting crashed relays.

Yesterday POP0 started crashing at 10AM. I had to reset it twice, then I opened the box to let the heat out. I had to drive out and reboot POP2 twice. I even had to reboot POP3 once at 9PM. That's a bit much.

All this running around is taking me away from my day job. I can't get anything done while running from place to place.

I am signing up a customer today, so I'm going to make sure to open my POP0 so I don't run into problems with the heat.

The ever crashing WRIP

I'm still fighting this heat problem with the Net Nimble WRIP's. It's been getting over the 100's here and the boxes just crash and burn. I've emailed Kelly a few times but I have not heard back from him. I'm thinking of putting the electronics in a metal box and then putting heat sink fins on the out side of the box. I wonder if putting them on the inside of the box would be better? Hmm..

But anyway, today my main antenna box was locking up every 15 minutes. I had to open the lid on it to keep it running. That's lame.
