Well, tomorrow is Jane's birthday party. We are having a bunch of friends come over. Some of them are flaking out though. All well, that's how it goes.

Speaking of Jane, she has been kicking ass on the web sites that she is doing. So far she started out with VJ's, then she did Kassabian's, and now she just finished APusa's site.

I think they all look really good. Way better than anyone else that has been doing web design for us. Anyway, she's hired!

Today Johnny and I installed Jane's second birthday present. We built and installed a pedestal for her washer and dryer. Now she does not even have to bend over to put the cloths into the wash. Their right there at waist level.

She really likes it. Later we are going to put pull out drawers under it. Then she can hide things away and reduce clutter.

I'm glad she liked it.

So I buy a gift from a company in NJ for Jane. I pay for express shipping. I get ground shipping. It got to Sparks yesterday morning, but DHL wasn't going to ship it off until Friday. Bogus. So since Jane was in town, I just had her pick it up. A day late isn't too bad. I just hope it's the right item now.

I still have to pick up the stuff for her other present. I figured that I could do that tomorrow. I might be able to even put it together and install it before she gets home.

Jane is going to have her party this weekend. Everyone is going to be here. It's going to be fun. I can't wait.

I got a SPAM today talking about the FTC Do Not Call list. They provide a product to car dealers to give them a way to check numbers before they call and get the $11,000 fine.

Here is my interpretation of the ad:

Hi, my name is blaa blaa. Are you FTC Do Not Call list compliant? Do you still want to hassle those poor bastards that did not add their numbers to the FTC Do Not Call list? We have a product that can help you make daily calls to those sorry suckers. You can annoy them each day with your advertisements over the phone. Our software will double check the phone numbers that you want to call against the FTC Do Not Call list. Not only that, but our software will also keep a internal Do Not Call list. You can use it after you change your business name or sell it to the highest bidder!

That's funny.

Click to view. How do I keep from accidentally clicking the close button when I want to click the back button? Easy, I just move the buttons to the other side of the window.

In some programs, like Safari, the buttons are not configurable. I'm not sure why the developers wanted it that way. You would think that giving people a choice of what buttons to have on their tool bar would be what they want. After all, it's part of the Apple API. It's simple to add to the application. So why didn't they use the Aqua interface for Safari?

I use Omniweb. It's vastly superior interface has many options for power users to control their browsing experience. Other browsers are very limited in the user interface department. But I guess you get what you pay for. If you get a free browser, then you get limited functionality. I'd rather have quality.

Jane got her iLife yesterday. So I edited the video from the wheeling trip last weekend. The new iMovie is much easier to edit movies with. I can actually cut/crop clips. Anyway, I've put up a small version of it here for you guys to check out. It's in the side bar. I have the old one there also. I'll keep adding to it as time goes on.

The trip was a blast!

Well, winter is finally here. It's freezing here! The last two years it was very nice this time of year. I'm thinking that this year is going to be like the first year we were here. Rainy, snowy, and very cold. The sky's are dark and it's starting to rain right now.

I guess my dad is on his way here or something. It always gets cold when he's in town. ;-)

Msg:#887 of 1364Date:2004-09-18Subj:The trip was both awesome and ...

The trip was both awesome and bogus. It was awesome because we had lots of fun wheeling. I've got lots of video of it too. It was bogus because the wind was about 40MPH all day and night.

The trip down to the hot springs was really fun. The trails were hard, but not too hard. I made it the whole way without a problem. I did however get some damage to my rig. I knocked off the plastic end cap on the rear bumper, and I bent the corners of a cross member. I also found some bent metal in my wheel well. Nothing hard to fix though.

After we were at the camp site, it got really windy. 40MPH was what it said on the news. We had to tie our tent to a tree to keep it from blowing away. It was windy all night. That makes it hard to sleep. The tent was flapping all over the place.

The next day we woke up to more wind. The wind was sucking, but we wanted to wheel anyway. So the bunch of us climbed up the hill climb and started up the side of the mountain. No trail to drive, we were just trying to get to the top.

Tim had to bail out early because he lost his brakes. Never did figure out why they stopped working, but it was the trucks maiden voyage. He is still dialing it in.

Randy, Jordan, Dave, and I made it to the top of the mountain. It was awesome. The ride up was crazy. I thought I was going to tip over like three times. The ride down was just as hairy. But it was all a lot of fun.

We all drove out that day in stead of spending another night. It looked like it was going to storm and we didn't have doors and tops on our rigs. So we bailed out of there.

Randy and Jordan came up to our place last night and spend the night here. We tried to get Tim and Michelle to come also, but they wouldn't.

Today we went up our hills and did some wheeling. We went up into this crazy draw and finally ran out of road. Well, really, our rigs just couldn't go any further. More work is needed to get over the big rocks and crazy tight turns.

So the weekend was both a blast, and a bummer. We made it fun even though the weather wasn't so great. I can't wait for next time!

I got my video camera today. Now I can make DVD and Quicktime movies! This is awesome.

So I went out to test it. I drove up this rock at Johnny's house. It makes the truck a bit tippy, but it's fun. With full lockers, it's crazy. I can just about drive up anything. Anyway, check out the movie here. I shot the movie in letterbox format, then found out iMovie can't do letterbox. So it's a bit squished. But it's still awesome.

The Samurai is still running well. I still need to paint the front bumper though. I've been keeping my eye on the front diff. It might have a leak in it. I'm going to tighten it up a bit and see if that fixes it. I sure hope I don't have to take it out and re-seal it. That was a pain in the but.
