OK, lockers are on the front! This thing climbs everything now. There is hardly a challenge anymore. But, I'll find something to challenge myself. The trails over the mountain behind my house are really cool. I found the back way in now, so it's easier to get to them. There is some really fun stuff back there. A few water falls to drive over.

I also got a rack. We went to get this $15 rack at Fish, and it ended up being half price day. I got it for $7.50. It's a nice rack for that price. I have it on my truck now. It works well. I'm all ready for the trip next weekend.

Craig isn't going to go on the trip. His truck didn't get finished in time. His girlfriend is sick also. That's too bad. They were really excited to go. We will have to plan another trip for them.

Oh, I bough a new video camera on eBay for $200. Ours finally bit the dust. This new one has firewire so I can plug it in and put the movies on DVD. I'm hopping to get it before the trip so I can do some filming.

Jane is going to be the photographer. But, she is hiking in because bouncing around in the truck is hard on her injured neck. We will go very slow so she can keep up. It's going to be Randy, Jane, and I the first day. The rest of the guys are going to meet up later that night. So Jane will be hiking by herself if he does hike in. I hope she rides with us most of the way. I don't like the fact that she is going to hike all the way in alone.

But anyway, I'll let you all know about it, with movies and stuff. :-)

I found out why my drive train was shaking. I had the knuckles on the drive shaft miss-aligned. After fixing that, it was smooth. I still have the klunk when i press in the clutch. It might be the u-joints, or it could be just the normal sounds it makes with lockers installed.

But anyway, I'm doing my front this weekend so I'll be ready for the wheeling trip on the following weekend. I can't wait!

I don't know why I didn't install lockers when I first got my Samurai. I've got to say they are the single most important thing that a off-road truck needs.

I just tested my lockers today. I can basically drive over anything. I drove straight up a steep rocky hill. I twisted my truck far enough to get my front left wheel off the ground about four feet. I drove over every spot that I had ever gotten stuck.

And I only have the back installed. Next week is the front.

Lockers. Get them. They are awesome!

I put my Lock Right Lockers in yesterday. I put them in my new axles so I could SPOA it when I pop them on the truck.

I found out one bad thing. The front has a blown out seal on the driver side wheel joint. It was mangled. I'm going to have to replace it. Also the hubs are locked up. They say they are not locked, but they are. Crazy. So I'm thinking I'l just pull the whole wheel and axle from my good one and put it in these housings with the SPOA pads. Then I can go for the SPOA lift.

I'm going to put the back one on today, but not SPOA. I just want to try it out on the trails. One is better than none. I'll order the seals this week and get the front in next weekend.

Fun, fun, fun.

What a pain that was. First I could not use the front end because the seals were all blown out. Now I can't use the read end also because the brake lines are different and the bump stops won't work with the SPOA perches.

So, I pulled the 3rd out of the new rear end and put it in the old rear end. That was a job. I finally got it in and all setup though.

So now I have lockers in the back. Next week I'll work on the front, but I have to buy new seals first.

My Lockers came today! Woooo Hoooo!

This weekend I'm going to install them, unless this stupid wind keeps blowing.

First things first. I got my lockers! I can't wait to get them on the truck! It's so exciting.

Last sunday Johnny and I went wheeling on the big loop through the mines. It was awesome. The roads were all washed out because of the rains and flash floods, so we had some challenges. A few times we almost thought we were done, but the sammy just kept on trail blazing. The whole trip took about four hours. It was a blast and we had tons of fun.

Johnny is ready to get his Samurai running now. He has one with a dune buggy body on it. It's really cool actually. It has 31" tires on it too. It will be a sweet ride when it gets going.

I found a guy selling a set of new Lockrite Lockers for a good price. I'm waiting for him to call me back. I should have them by next weekend. It's going to be great!

I took some video today of wheeling. I want to get some video after I get my lockers in and compare it. I was driving up some crazy stuff today. It was cool.

Well, the Samurai is running well. Even though I don't have a locker yet, and I don't have a lift yet, I can still get around really well. Not much can stop me as far as off road driving.

I'm planning on getting a locker next. At least for the rear. I find that a lot of times I loose traction because I have two wheels off the ground. If I can have traction in three wheels, I'll be set.

Then I'm going to start saving my money for my left kit. I'm going with the coil over springs three link system. It will give me 6-8 inches of lift with about 30-40 inches of travel.

All I need now is money. I have a 1990 Mazda Pickup Truck for sale (cracked head), 1975 Scout Traveler (Needs transmission), a Standard STA 500 BMX bike fully loaded, an Infinity BMX bike fully loaded, HP/UX server with 20" monitor, Honda CBR 600 (needs lots of work) and a few Linux servers for sale.

Well, I finally got the new hard drive installed. I sure hope it's good. The last new one died just after I got all the software installed. I hate hard drives.

I'm going to build myself a RAID server and forget about all this mess with hard drives going bad all the time. I'm just going to put everything on the RAID and have all my servers boot remote to it. I guess I'll need to get really fast drives.

I'm thinking of getting nine drives. Four stripping with the other four mirroring and the last one as parity. Or something like that. I'll have to read up on how it all works. But first I need to get the drives, the RAID controller card and all that other stuff.

Maybe I can find a RAID box on ebay for cheap.
