Gesh, scams are running amuck. This week someone stole my CC number and charged a bunch of dating services to my card. Lame. Of all the things to do with a stolen CC. So I had to get a new CC card, and I'm still trying to get the charges off my bill.

The cell phone tower here was having some problems. We could not receive calls, and could not make calls some of the time. I think they have it all fixed up now.

Then someone stole my dad's SS check. They changed the direct deposit to another bank. So he was out some cash. Then since the Cell towers were down, it was hard to call SS to fix the problem. Every time we would get connected and start getting answers the phone would turn off.

To end up the week, someone took a bat to our mail box. All the mail boxes on our street were hammered flat. Ours wasn't that bad, but still it sucks. I was able to fix it up without too much problems. Stupid kids. I haven't received any mail since it happened. I'm not sure if the post office just isn't delivering, or if I'm just not getting any mail.

To Leander Kahney, As if you were going to get anything different from Kerry?

I went and voted today. I like the new voting machines. They are much better than then punch card machines. I can't wait for the day that they are all linked live to the polls and we can get instant feedback. I figure it will come around soon.

Today when voting I saw another car with a plastic lizard glued to the hood. That was cool.

I made it over the mountain to the hidden valley. We just drove right off the cliff and down to the valley. It was really fun. I, however, forgot to bring the video camera. I keep forgetting to bring it and we always end up in some really cool spots.

It was really crazy in a few spot where we were crossing the washes and climbing up and down hills. One spot was so off camber that we almost rolled over. Crazy....

Anyway, we are going to go back next weekend and do it again. I'll have a shovel and the camera next time.

Trail blazing is fun!

Well, this week has been busy.

First I had a new Propane tank put in. This time we put it over 50' away from the house. Ends up that the regulator on the house side was bad, so I had it replaced. That's probably why our bathroom had that oder. We will find out in about a month if the oder leaves. Now I have to fill the trench in.

I've been super busy at work with stuff. Lots and lots to do there. I am making progress though. I just hope that I can get it all done soon. We really need the new features.

BMG50 is still doing well. I have a bunch of people on the waiting list. I just need to get them setup. I don't really have any more space on POP3 to hook people up. So I'm going to have to figure out something for that. I'm wanting to take down POP2. There is DSL in that area and I don't want the head aches to service everyone over there. With MS Windows running so bad, it's a major pain in the rear to support it. I really dislike MS Windows.

Jane is doing awesome with web sites. She is cranking them out. Top notch stuff I think. The dealers are really liking them also.

Randy and I are going to get my new Samurai maybe next weekend. They are working on getting the trailer out of the mud over there in CA. It will be a nice trip to CO. I havn't been there in years. It's going to be a long drive though. 17 hours.

I can't wait to get my new Sammy here. I've been dreaming of what I'm going to do to it. I'm not sure how I'm going to paint the frame and all with no garage and in the winter. That's going to be a hard one. I still need to put a bunch of money into to it also. Lots of stuff to do...

Anyway, I'm going to have some fun today. I don't know if I'll go wheeling... But I probably will.

Click to view.I did it. I bought the Samurai that I've been watching on eBay. Boy what have I gotten myself into now... Mostly, this is what I've been looking for. It's a Samurai with a 1.6L Turbo Diesel engine. I want to change the whole bottom end out with Toy axles and coil suspension. The axles, hydo steering, and maybe even leaf springs are going to Randy. I'm keeping the top end and building it up. I'll probably ditch the frame and build on my spare frame.

It's going to be a kick ass rock crawler.

Msg:#908 of 1364Date:2004-10-24Subj:I shut off my telephone today....

I shut off my telephone today. I'm just going to use my cell phone for now on. I'm going to save $60 a month this way. I even upped my cell plan to 1200 minutes nation wide calling and no long distance. $60 a month is a lot of money, and now I can put that into my Samurai!

Msg:#907 of 1364Date:2004-10-22Subj:So the other day Jane bought M...

So the other day Jane bought MS Office so she can do her school work. It was a good deal from her school store at $79. Anyway I thought, "I need Word and Excel from time to time." So I installed it on my computer also. You know, just incase someone sends me a stupid Word or Excel document.

Well, today I wanted to open a Word document that someone sent to me and convert it into a PDF so I can open it easy in the future. I go to open the document and MS Word tells me that Word is running on Jane's computer and I can't run it on my computer at the same time. ARG! They have a network anti-piracy checker.

So being the computer guy that I am, I just fire walled ports 2222 and 3000-65535 on both of our computers. Problem solved.

Now I can run Office on both computers without the stupid anti-piracy message.

Well, still no word on the roofing. I was told someone was going to contact me last week. I guess not.

I'm still not sure what I want to do though. Metal roof will cost me $1500 where a regular roof would cost only $600. I could save almost $1000! But it would take a whole lot more time to put the roof on. Saving the time would be worth the price.

Anyway, I need to get it ordered and on because this is going to be a bad winter.

Msg:#905 of 1364Date:2004-10-18Subj:It's officially winter here in...

It's officially winter here in Silver Springs. It's been raining for about two days straight. Looks like it should snow soon. I don't see any yet. The weather reports say it's going to snow though. It's cold out side.

I finally turned on the heater it's so cold. Our propane take is under 15% and the new tank doesn't get here for a week. Sooo, I don't know if we are going to make it. It might get a bit cold this weekend.

This year for Christmas we are all staying home. Maybe do a bit of wheeling and stuff. Randy is going to come over also and stay for a few days. That will be fun. I'm going to have to get some extra money together and get some nice presents for everyone.
