Check it, my rack is almost full!

Welp. its done. HMO 4 Cars admin site is done! I have just a few more items to square away on the site, and it will be complete. I also have about 100 other things I need to do on other things also. AutoMallCity has really suffered because of the HMO project. I have to get back to work on that real quick. It is in some bad need of an overhaul.

I have four other projects to do also. Plumbrite, TheJane, Built2Grind, and Dinnerbot. Plumbrite is important. I have already been paid for half the work on it. I need to do that this week. The others are important also, but they are pet sites. Personal things that I want to do. I also have some programs that I need to work on. My document control program needs some work on it. My accounting system need help. I just have way too many things to do. They just keep stacking up. I am going to do them in a very ordered manner.

  • 1st, write the requirements.

  • 2nd, write up a specification.

  • 3rd, write the code.

  • 4th, test and ship.

Now thats the way to do things. Four days per site, and no more than that. I really need to get things moving.

Welp, back to work.

whew, what a day.

I killed my system sorta. I upgraded the kernel to the latest, but it sucked and didn't work right. Then I downgraded, but that didn't work right. I have it up, but have problems in the modules. But I can see my nfs mounts now, so I'm back to work at least.

Next: reinstalling the new webserver with Debian 2.2. What a pain that was. My CD is on backorder, so I downloaded the iso, mounted the iso and made a tar.gz. Installed old debian on the system. sshed the tgz over, and unpacked it on another partition. Then I installed from that partition. Fun. I'm installing the web server now.

Rave is going on right now also. The later it gets, the louder it gets. Can you say, ClassAction? I'm going to drop off some classaction information later. Maybe I can just scare them. I'm also going to tell my land lord that if they dont do something about it, I'm going to sue them also.

Welp, back to the webserver.

Last night on IRC:

rawG: readlink();

Remenic: ow... i did linkinfo =P

rawG: I love my PHP manual.

rawG: makes me look like a PHP god.

Remenic: so do I, but I thought readlink was the same as linkinfo

rawG: I love knowing how to read.

rawG: makes me look like a PHP god.

One, two, three, four.... Mountain Dew YEAH!

I'm all caf'ed up, now I'm ready to go. HMO look out, its code time! Still I'm working on that damm admin. I should have had it done a week ago. Dumb brain has not been working too good though. But I think tonight is the night. Time to get it done, move on to AutoMallCity again.

I just registered dinnerbot.com for Jane and Cyndie. They are going to have the best dinner site on the net. Lots of things to do for that. That will be fun.

PostgresQL turned out to be a really nice DB. I've already done queries that can't be done in MySQL. Others have problems doing the queries I can do. "select * from table1 group by upper(field1);" heheh Try that in mysql.

Well, I'm out.

Ok, I've been reading all about this Napster/MP3 problem for awhile now. Here is my proposal. Stop buying from companies that support the RIAA and MIAA. Just stop putting money into something that you don't want. That includes buying MS products, watching TV, or doing anything that is not what you want. If you keep feeding the cat, it will keep coming back. I will never buy CD's. I will copy what I want. I will pay for what I feel deserves payment.

Wow, what a day already. I woke up this morning to take Jane to the dentist, and all of databoost is down. I called and called, but nobody was there. When I got back home I called again and found out that the power to the server room was nuked. So much for my uptime on my server. I had 260 days uptime, then poof. Why is it that when one of my servers get an uptime close to one year, someone unplugs it? heh. All well.

Good news is that I get to upgrade it now. heh.

Msg:#177 of 1364Date:2000-08-19Subj:How great living next to a nig...

How great living next to a night club is. This morning I get woke up at 3am when the club lets out. People yelling, cars peeling out, and some asshole in a White or Silver I think GMC Yukon or other type of SUV/Blazer with the license plate #4GBY874 is playing his rap music so loud that everyone in my complex wakes up. I call the cops on them, but by the time the cops get here, they are gone. I think that it is time to see a lawyer.

Nothing really good to say here today. I've just been hacking code all day long. I got out a few times to ride my bike around, but nothing really.

I've been learning vim the last two days. Its ok. I like the syntax highlighting, I think. I dont like switching back and forth from command mode to edit mode. That really pisses me off, but other than that... Its ok.

New stuff at c0de.networks: rtfm.c0de.net, you know what it is. The easy way to tell someone to find it themself.

Well, back to hacking I guess.
