Yesterday Jane and I went out to Rippon Skateboard Park. I'll just let you know... It is really good. Thrasher was right when they rated it a 7.5/10. I would change nothing. Some of the things I like about it are the hips. There is lots of hips to launch airs over. Another thing I like is the 10 foot quarter at the back side. It even has a channel.

I think that it is about the same rating for the Carson Valley park. I would make them both equal. Carson is a different kind of park... Not really and hips, but just as fun.

I get to go back on the 30th!

Welp, back to work.

I had a good time at the skate park today. There were a lot of people there. I like our little skate park.

Today I did a shuv-it to 50/50 grind. I prolly grinded 9 feet or so. But I could not get my foot on the tail in time to drop back in, so I stepped off. I could have landed it. I'm getting really close to pulling them. I've got frontside board slides going on also. I can pull them every time. I still need to work on a few other things, but I got to get the guts to pull them. I've almost got my front side airs back also. I've got 50/50's, smiths down again.

I've crashed really good the last two times I've been there. I fell on my wrist and side the other day, and today I fell straight onto my back. I was trying to learn 50/50 grinds on the box. I think I need to stick to the mini-ramp.

My next tricks are, 5-0 grinds, shuv-it grinds, front side airs, and back side board slides.

Welp, back to Webentorytm, almost done with it.

I have just gotten around to making my home page HTML 4.01. It had some really bad HTML in it. Now its all good! Pure and good. Standards compliant, and all that.

Status:

I've built 7 web sites in 3 days. I'm starting my 8th. All of them validate 4.01 and use CSS. I love CSS. Its the only way to build a web site in this day.

Karl quit AMC, so now I'm doing twice the work. He was doing the HTML code and design of the web sites. I'm sorry that he left. I though he was starting to do a very good job. All well. So now I'm doing graphics design, HTML, and PHP programming for 50 clients with 50 more clients coming on soon. I guess I'll have to design a really good template.

Randy called today and told Jane that he is done tranning and will get his truck in a few weeks. Wow... Randy the truck driver. I guess we will see him in a few weeks after he gets his truck and makes his way to this side of the country.

welp... Back to the grind...

Msg:#261 of 1364Date:2001-07-10Subj:Welp... Webentory is in QA now...

Welp... Webentory is in QA now. Its just bug fix and feature creep now. That was really a hell of a project. I'm glad its done. Now its just small things to finish, and porting all the AutoMallCity sites over to the webentory system. I'm ending up redoing the whole code base of the AutoMallCity sites because of the very bad HTML code. I've never seen such bad code before. Its really ugly. I'm doing HTML4.1 spec code. Its so nice when things validate. I dont have to worrie about if a browser will support it or not. Just use the standards.

When the porting of the sites is done, and I get the last bit of features in, then I get to work on my own projects. Document Control Program is the first one I'm going to knock out. Then I'll prolly do Dinnerbot.com. Built2Grind.com needs a ton of work. I'm hoping to be in Nevada by then. Kicking back and chill'n in the sun. I can't wait.

Well.. I think its time for bed. I'm beat.

I had a great time in Nevada! It was really good to see Johnny and Cyndi. They are looking really good up there. We did a whole bunch of stuff while we were up there.

When we got there, I walked in and there was my dad. He came up for my birthday. What a suprise. I didn't know that he was going to be there. We had a great time at my party. I got a lot of new toys and stuff.

Next we went out and looked at the horses, wild ones. Jane tried to feed them, but they were shy. She did get some really good pictures of them.

Then we went shooting at the "range". That was really fun. They have sooo much space to shoot in. We can setup targets really far away. Its going to be fun to hit targets at 600yds. We even shot clay's with the shot guns. That was really fun. I even hit a few. Thats going to be something that I'm going to like doing in the future.

The next day we went to Carson Valley Skate Facility in Gardnerville, NV. Talk about a great park. Its the best park I have ever skated. This park just rules! Its big. Its got perfect trannies. Its got rounded wedges. The coping is perfect and grinds well. Its really one of the best parks around. Check IT out!

The next few days were about the same thing. Shooting and having fun. On the last day we worked on "Johnny's Hide Out". I got to bend a few nails, and it was fun working with Johnny. We have some pictures that I'll have to put into the bmg50 photoalbum.

It was really fun hanging out up there, and I can't wait till next time!

I just found out last night that our DNS server was being used as a SPAM relay. I guess sendmail was wide open. I checked out the box a bit more (its slowaris) and found out that the whole box was wide open. Just about any scriptkiddie could have hacked into it and used it for anything.

So a few emails and a phone meeting later, we are going to upgrade the box to GNU/Debian and secure it down.

Has anyone checked out the price of RAM lately! Its way way cheap. Like $50 for 512mb. I have not bought hardware in like over a year. I was surprised when I looked on pricewatch.com for some stuff. I can get a really good system for about $600. I look at that Apple stuff, and I really want one, but lets see, $3000 G4 or $1000 for a PC thats got more. hmmmmm.. I really want to run OSX, but at what price. I dont think I'm going to buy a G4. My dual xeon is running just fine right now.

I'm off to the 2pm session.

Msg:#258 of 1364Date:2001-06-21Subj:My birthday is coming up soon....

My birthday is coming up soon. I'm going to take a few days off in Nevada. Hang out on the prairie, chill'n like a vill'n. Its going to be a lot of fun. I'll probably bend a few nails on the homestead with Johnny.

Things are going well with everything else. Webentory is running real good. I've got two different inventory types runing now. Its looking strong. We just need to start porting web sites over to the new system. That wont be too hard to do.

I will be re-building Jane's web site this weekend. Thejane.com. She wants a few changes done on it that will improve the surfing. It will be fun. I hope to get the whole thing done on sunday.

Things have been real slow on barspin.com. Nobody is posting anything. No pictures, letters, or testbenches. I guess its because its summer now, and people are outside now. I will pick up when the rain comes back I guess. I will have to check out the hit counters. I have not even though of the next version of it, july. I guess I'll just copy the code into a new directory and change the splash graphics. I have nothing to report, and no stories to tell. I should have got some interviews from a few different people, but I dont know anyone that rides anymore. Ryan does not do anything with the site. That really makes me mad. I should just toast it.

I've got built2grind using the same code as barspin.com. I think I'll get some interviews from the local park and put them up. I can get the location maps running on it as well. I think that I could make built2grind way better than barspin.com. At least skateboarders have style and are artistic.

Well, thats enough from me.

Msg:#257 of 1364Date:2001-06-17Subj:I have been on the road a lot ...

I have been on the road a lot lately. Lots of driving. I'm tired of driving. I'll be done for a while though, so that is nice.

We had a really nice time up in Meadow Vista yesterday. It was Nates graduation. We all had good BBQ and fun times in the pool. After that we went to the skateboard park in Auburn. That was fun because I found a new line to get a lot of air on. I was blasting frontsides off a transition to a wedge. I'm going to have to go back and do it some more.

Work is going well. Things are getting done. We are moving forward. Money is coming in. All that jazz... Still waiting for the jack pot though. Soon, I'll have enough money to pay off my credit cards, buy land in Nevada, and build a house. And dont forget about the skateboard park in the back yard. 8^)

I think its about time to eat some dinner, so I'm out of here.

Msg:#256 of 1364Date:2001-06-10Subj:Yesterday we got Yahoo chat wo...

Yesterday we got Yahoo chat working with audio. Jane's parents just moved to Nevada, and we needed a way to talk with them without the cost of long distance phone charges. They got setup with an ISP and installed Yahoo Chat. Just click on the voice button and start talking. It was really cool. It does work well. I think that it would work better with a faster connection on the other side, like DSL, but using the modem the sound was really clear. We could not talk at the same time without it getting really choppy, but it was clear when we took turns. Next step is to get webcams setup and use MS Netmeeting for video and audio chat. All for no long distance phone charges. I like it.

I've been doing a lot of skateboarding in the past month. Not very much when I was sick, but other than that almost every day. I'm thinking about going to the park today and hit'n some smiths. I even learned how to get up on that rail at the parks. It was not really that hard. Just scarry at first. I think I'm doing very well lately.

We checked out a new park above Folsom. Its a really good design. I like a few of the features. There is a really nice wedge/volcano type jump that I can blast airs on. It was crowded the times that we went, so I didn't get to go too big, but it was really fun.

I've been working on built2grind.com a little. Got a layout going, but no content or database yet. I really want to work on dinnerbot.com, but that will take way more time than I have right now. That is going to be a major project. It will be a really good one though. I think that it could do a lot. Maybe I could find some help someday.

Jane has my new photoalbum code running on her website. She has uploaded a bunch of pictures already. I guess the code is working well. I will have to archive it, and put it up for download. Maybe in a few days.

Well thats all for now.

Msg:#255 of 1364Date:2001-06-10Subj:I have not been doing anything...

I have not been doing anything with HMO. Damm them. I got a call today telling me that the money is going to be wired to the bank. I dont know. SWBC will prolly figure out something to hose it up again. Its really hard to work on this project without any money or anything. Just as soon as I get some money, I'm going to buy property in Nevada and get the heck out of CA. I'm done with all this crap.
