Yesterday was very fun. We went to the skatepark and had a blast. I think we stayed too long though. I am worked. I need to skate more. I'm thinking about building a mini-mini ramp in the back yard to play around on.

Well, the ebay Mac Cube ended the other day at over $1400. Thats too much for me right now. Maybe someday I can get one. Maybe Apple will make a new one thats more powerful. Then I'll buy it. I wish that Mac's wern't so expensive.

I really thought that there was a Comp-USA in Carson City. I looked all around for one and I did not find any. Thats lame. I only seen one computer store and it was just a real small one. I dont think that they would have Mac's in it.

I guess I'm going to order my wireless stuff online. For one thing, its much cheaper at Pricewatch.com that any store I've seen. I think we are ready to get this stuff going. I'm going to order the cards.

Anyway, I need to get back to work on stuff.

Well, it was bound to happen. The wind came and one of our chickens went. I'm guessing that it was playing in the yard in the middle of the wind storm and it blew away. There is still a chance that it could be around here someplace. Maybe it will show up tomorrow....

Update 2002-05-20 10:53:43... I looked in the coop and guess what? The chicken is there. I have no idea how it got in or where it was. I looked all over that coop for that chicken and I did not see it.

On a side note, the wind moved the coop four inches east. This is an 8x8x8 foot building. Wow.

Msg:#332 of 1364Date:2002-05-16Subj:I received good news yesterday...

I received good news yesterday. Ken and Bobby did a demo for Webentory to a credit union and the results were reported as very good. I was told that the credit union loved the system and is interested in getting their 1500 dealerships online with it. This sounds really good! We have put many years of time into this and it would be great to finally get something back from it.

In other news:

Jane has been working on her garden. The current project is the fence. Two sides are finished right now and she is working on the last bit of it. That will surely keep the rabits out. We have been seeing lots of them around now that its getting warmer out.

Karl is getting threats from his former band about the use of the music they made. The now defunct band wants to retain ownership of the music. The other members have created a new band called InvertX that is now claiming the previous music to be theirs. If I were Karl, I would have taken them to IP court and sued them for my part of the IP. But I'm sure that nobody in the band had any type of written contracts that could prove to a court anything. So I guess that Karl is just SOL.

Karl is going to start a new band, the name of which is Proxy Damage. He wants to write music about computer networks. This sounds really cool and I hope that he follows through with it.

CDC now has realestate online. Right now there is no global site for it, but that will come around when we get a few more clients online. The Webentory system is working out really well.

Well, thats about all the news I have. I'm going back to work now.

Hello...Tap...Tap...Tap... Is this thing on?

I spent the whole day yesterday outside. I helped my dad move his trailer house to its new location. It was pointing west and now its pointing north. Its a bit farther back from our house also. We still need to trench out to it and run the water and electricity. That wont be fun. The septic is hooked up now, so that part is done. We still need to fill in the septic hole. Lots of dirt.

I built the pedestal for my 19" racks in the computer room yesterday while I was out side. Its time now to start getting that room cleaned up. I have the racks on the pedestal now, and the systems on in the racks. I need to put the rest of the equipment on the racks. That room is a mess right now. I'm planning on getting some sheets of plexiglass to put around the server racks. I'm hoping that will keep the dust/dirt out. I'm thinking about setting up some AC for the system in the racks. That will be a project. First I need to get the T1 running.

Speaking of the T1, I need to find a way to get $600 a month. If I can get $600 a month, then I can get my T1. That will rule.

Johnny and I want to get started on our wireless network setup soon. We just need to get the wireless cards and build the antenna's. That will be a fun project also. I figure it will be around $200 to get setup and going. (For both of us). We will send a 2.4Gz signal across the desert for about 5 miles.

Well, anyway, I have lots of work, so I'm out of here.

You might have noticed some changes here in my journal. I added some search functionality. At the bottom of the page there is a search text box. You can type in a phrase and it will search my journal and return the latest 5 entries. You can also type in a date (2002-05-10) or a partial date (2000-06) and it will return any entries on that date.

Its really cool how it works. It uses the URL to do the searching also. You can type in something like "http://phill.kenoyer.com/2002-05" and it will return any entries in the month of May in the year 2002. You can also search for text the same way.

How does it work? I setup Apache to redirect 404 errors to a PHP script. I setup the script to search the database for dates or text. Then it returns the data. I got the idea from the PHP.net home page. I really like it.

Anyway, its time for bed. Late!

Rob is about to drive me up a frick'n wall. There is something wrong with that guy. He is always crying about Kevin not doing anything. Well, Rob, you need to do something. Its taking forever to get him to sell something to make this a real business. He blames everyone else for stuff, but he is not doing the correct things to make the company grow. He needs to get some sales staff doing sales and find some web design people to do the web sites.

Its really hard for me to sit here watching him just piss away the last 6 years of work.

Now he is talking about dumping the whole thing and do something else. Well, he has another thing coming... thats for sure.

Msg:#328 of 1364Date:2002-05-07Subj:I called SBC today to ask abou...

I called SBC today to ask about a T1 line. I found out that they can set me up with a T1 for $1330 a month with a $1200 setup fee. I also found out that a Frame Relay would cost me $939 a month and $400 setup fee. I'm thinking about getting the Frame Relay. If I can find people that would go in on it with me I can set it up. I can afford about $400 a month, but no more than that. I want to setup a wireless network in my area. Then I can have people on my system help me pay for the line. That would be cool.

I would still have to buy the wireless access point and equipment to get the wireless stuff going. I'll have to build a nice 2.4GHz Antenna.

Johnny and I are going to link our houses together some time for our test to see how it works. That will be fun. We are going to build the antenna's ourselves. We just need to get the wireless cards to start. They sure our coming down in price. I can't wait to start this project.

Anyway, I'm getting back to work now.

Msg:#327 of 1364Date:2002-04-29Subj:$400 a month for ISDN (128/128...

$400 a month for ISDN (128/128) is retarted. I would gladly pay it if it was 1.5/1.5mb/s, but it isn't. I just checked DSL again, and it said something about it may be available in my area. I'll find out if Nevada Bell will call me back. (I'm not expecting them to because SBC is a looser company.)

When I got ISDN I was quoted $80 per month for the ISDN line by Nevada Bell. The first month was $5000 because of a billing mistake. The second month was correct. The third month was $179. The forth month was $184. I find out that there is a long distance charge for ISDN. My ISP is charging me $195 a month for service. That make almost $400 a month. Give it another month and SBC will get it up there.

I'm done with SBC. My goal now is to get internet service without using SBC. Wireless anyone? I'll figure out how to get it here. It may cost more, but I dont care as long as I dont have to use SBC.

Another note. My hardwood floor casters came for my chair today. They are exactly the same as what I have on my chair now. I guess they did send the chair with the right casters after all. But it did say in the listing that both sets of wheels would come with the chair and I only received one set. I'm not sure if these are the right ones because I can not find a photo of them anywhere on the net. I'll keep asking around.

Anyway, thats my rant for the day.

PS. Does it ever stop snowing here?

Msg:#326 of 1364Date:2002-04-26Subj:Well, the chicken coop is done...

Well, the chicken coop is done. The chickens are very happy there. We still need to roof it and setup the perch for them to roost on.

The weather is really odd here. One day it will be really hot the next day it will be raining. Right now its cold and rainy. Yesterday it was hot and dry.

I guess its a nice day to sit inside and chill. I have a lot of work to finish up on Webentory. So I'm going to be busy anyhow.

Jane is working on her paintings right now. She has a new oil that she is working on. Its looking really good.

Well, not much to say today. Late...

Msg:#325 of 1364Date:2002-04-24Subj:I spent 3 days building a 8x8 ...

I spent 3 days building a 8x8 chicken coop. Its still not finished yet. (no photos) We still have to paint and roof it. It turned out ok. The chickens love it. They chill in there all day and just cluck and peck.

My next project is to put the fence around the garden. That will be much easier to do. We have all the stuff to get started. I guess I'll start on it in a few days. I have lots of work on Webentory to finish up with.

Webentory is doing well. We are selling more accounts all the time. We have about 4 sales people now. I may be able to give myself a raise soon. Boy do I need one too. Now we just need to find a really good graphics guy. It is really hard to find good graphics work. They all want too much money and their work is not that good. Its like pulling teeth to get the work done, and when its done its shoddy.

Anyway, things are moving quicker now.
