So today I received the two WAP11's for my new repeater. Guess what... They are the new WAP11 2.6. Guess what again... They don't allow DHCP to work just like the WET11's. The 2.2's work great. I'm so pissed right now.

I will never buy another Linksys product again. Nothing but headaches with them.

I'll just have to get the $2000 and buy real WISP routers.

Computer/Work Hierarchy:

Computers that do work run Linux/Unix. (Servers, Rendering, Number Crunching)
Computers that people do work on run Mac OS. (Text, Audio, Video)
Computers that people work on run MS Windows. (Anti-virus, Scan-disk, (re)Installs)

Yep, that sounds about right. Guess which computer operating system makes people the most money....MS Windows. The others just run and never need to be fixed or upgraded. How do you make money on something that doen't need Anti-Virus, Disk Repair, and Tech Support?

I finally received the DC/DC converters from Herbach & Rademan. They don't work. After reading the fine print on the web site, they are for parts only. Ooops.

Ahh...The repeater is back online. I was able to access the WAP11's from a web browser by changing my IP. The setup utility would not work with the new firmware for some reason. All is good. Now lets see if the sleep problem goes away.

Great. I just killed two WAP11's by trying to upgrade the firmware so they would stop locking up while going to sleep. I hate Linksys. I have had more problems with their stuff than anything. I need to quit buying Linksys.

I never received the DC/DC converters from Herbach & Rademan that I ordered. Maybe they will show up on Monday. It has been 5 days already. So, not only did they over charge my credit card, they did not respond to my email, they never sent a UPS tracking number, and I have not received my product in the 5 days that the invoice said. Somethings up with that company. I'll never buy them them again.

So I bought some DC/DC converters from Herbach & Rademan. My order came out to $33.85. I looked on my credit card statement yesterday and found the charge to them for $42.03. So last night I shot them over a email asking why the charged me $8.18 over the invoice. Nothing. No reply. I guess I'll have to dispute it.

I recommend staying away from that web site.

Anyone want to buy some Linksys WET11's? I have four for sale at $80 each. I have only used them for a few weeks. I have all the original packaging. They just don't work for my needs...IE they don't do DHCP.

Wow, what a day. I'm so busy I can't see straight. Today I wanted to pull the power line from my main radio to my UPS. I'm thinking it will be a 15 minute job. Just pull the CAT5 back through with a string attached, then put both back to the server room. Nope. It was a job and a half. Remember, if it can get snagged, it will get snagged. I think I snagged about 200 times. It took almost three hours to finish it. OK, next week I _will_ have my repeater running at the parts store. No more putting that off. I _need_ to do it.
