Skateboarding
We went to the skate park today for a really cool contest / demo. There were lots of people there. It was really cool. Emerica was there. They kinda ripped it up...I guess...If you call landing 1 out of 40 tricks ripping it up. When they did land something, it was awesome.

Jane and I really ripped it up. She was landing really high nollies and stuff. She likes her new board. I like my new wheels. We were rocking.

I can't think of much else to say, so I'm signing off.

While reading Daring Fireball's Track Back Rant I got the idea to use referrer stats on my home page. So I've implemented it and it works nice. It's nice to get new idea's from other sites. Really helps with innovation.

Net Nimble
What a morning. Kelly upgraded my WRIP's last night and some of the configuration was wrong. I didn't hear my alarm until 7AM this morning. When I went to check stuff out, both relay's were down. I guess when he upgraded it blew out the configuration files. I had to reconfigure them this morning. Only one customer had problems, and I got him all fixed up a few minutes ago.

So, the new hardware and software watch dogs are in place. Also a ping system to check the the network and reboot if it can not find it. I hope this solves my problems with the relays going down.

So my USB wireless client didn't work today. I was sure that an 8dBi client would reach. Heck, I get better with my 2dBi. I'm not sure if it was the box or the WinXP drivers. I'll find out tomorrow.

I also had a WRIP go down tonight. I just got back from resetting it. Kelly at Net Nimble is suppose to upgrade them with new firmware. I can't do it myself because he does not want me to see his proprietary code. If they don't get upgraded soon, I'm just going to have to do it my self. I'll buy another one and install WISP-Dist on it.

Can I wait...no. But it's a nice birthday gift.

Good news and bad news.

First the good news. Friday I installed two customers. They are online and working out great. I'm up to twelve customers now with 13, 14, and 15 on their way next week.

The bad news....I need to figure out what to do about lightning. It took out another CPE last night. I'm guessing that I'm going to have to install lighting arrestors on each CPE bringing the price up to $210. That's just too expensive. I'm also thinking that I can just run a #4 wire from the antenna to the ground and that would be it. I'm going to try that on my customer today.

The Omni Group has released the first beta of their new Omniweb 4.5 browser. It's rendering engine is based on the Apple Web Kit using KHTML rendering engine.

I have been using the sneaky peaks for a long time now, and I've got to say that this is the best browser by far. It's fast and renders very well. It also has tons of really cool UI features. Some of my favorites are image blocking, type-ahead find, and URL short cuts.

If your on a Mac, you really need to check it out.

Fun with SBC. So I used two cards to pay for my two month startup. Hopefully I'll get this installed this month. Gesh. I have my T1/E1 card all setup and ready to go. All I need to do is run the cable in and plug in.

Note: SPAM is killing email. People can't get email to send, all they get is SPAM, admins around the world spend full time on SPAM problems, and email servers are getting clogged. It's ridiculous. Why do we have to spend time and money fixing a problem that can't be fixed. Why does someone have the right to crash servers, fill email boxes, and cause problems for everyone else? How can this be legal? All day I fight with SPAM. All night I fight with it.

Forget email, I'm just going to use the phone.

So I just faxed over my 2nd credit card info to SBC. I hope this time it goes through. This is very hard to deal with. I was not expecting it would take two months to order a frame relay. I expected it to be late, but not a whole month late. It's so hard dealing with them. It takes two or three days to relay a problem back to me if something goes wrong. So each problem takes a week to solve. I have the call and email them every day just to find out what's going on with the order. Every time I call them, there is a problem that nobody told me about. I sure hope this stuff goes through.
