We bought some trees today. It's time to rase the property value. We are going to be working on getting our property up as much as possible. In about five years we want to be able to buy 40 acres in the middle of nowhere and build a home right in the middle of it. Far away from the noise of everyday life. It will be nice to be able to have peace and quiet. The castle on the hill has always been my dream. Someday I'll have it.
I'll get some photo's of the tree's when we get them planted.
It would sure be nice if people paid their bills on time. I'm starting to have problems with people not paying their internet bill by the due date. I guess I'll just have to start adding late charges and turning off connections.
Wow. What a great weekend.
I went hiking in the American River Canyon. It was a blast. Lot's of hiking and fun.
First we went down into the canyon about four miles. That was our first camp. We got there just at dark because we left at around 5pm or so. We got setup, had dinner and went to bed.
The next day we packed it up and hiked down the river. That was not my favorite part, but it was still really fun. I only fell in the water twice and rolled my ankle four times. All in all, it was ok.
Half way down we stopped for lunch at the swimming holes. They were really cool. Really deep holes that you can dive into. Tim and Tim we doing different dives into the holes while I took pictures of it. We got some really great photos!
After lunch we hiked to the next camp site. This was my favorite of them all. The river was mostly bedrock. It curved around in a snake run. It was really deep, like 30 foot to the bottom. There was much to do there.
The mosquitos were really thick at the camp site, so Jane and I went to the river to cook and eat dinner. That was really fun. Sitting next to the river just chilling out. That's the life.
The next day was the hard hike out of the canyon. We hiked just about straight up for about four miles. I was thinking it was going to be a lot worse than it was. Actually I didn't have a problem hiking out of it. Neither did anyone else. Even Tommy (age 5) hiked all the way out with energy to spare.
All in all it was a blast, and I can't wait till the next one.
I got my dad's iMac today!
I'm installing it right now. I've got Mac OS 9.2.2 on there now because I can't get OS X to install on it. I guess I need more memory in it. The HDD just grinds away while trying to boot up the installer CD. It's kinda nuts.
I'm going to have Jane buy some new memory for it tomorrow. Also maybe a Airport Adaptor for my Airport card. Then it will be running wirelessly.
Well, I'm going back to installing it.
I'm still looking on eBay for a cheap G3 iMac. I placed a few bids but they always end up going over the $300 mark. The other day I missed one that ended at $197. That sucked. I could have got that one. There is one for $200 right now that I'm going to bid on, unless it goes up too high.
Got it.
iMac 350MHz for $265. Not a bad deal. I'm hoping for Tuesday delivery.
We had a crazy hail storm. Biggest hail I've ever seen. I was out in it and it was not fun to get hit by it. I think the hail was about the size of a dime. Maybe a penny.
It also rained like crazy. It flooded our whole yard. Still today the street if flooded. We still have a lot of mud in the back yard. I wonder if it will ever dry up. I guess it's time to get some gravel to keep the mud out.
I also wouldn't mind building a trench to move the water around my house so it does not fill the back yard up with mud. It really sucks. I've never seen it this bad here before.
Well, I guess I need to go out and fix it up.
