Msg:#1192 of 1362Date:2009-01-01Subj:The roof, the roof...

The roof is almost half re-roofed. Today my dad and I spend the mid-day roofing. It was nice to hang out and stuff. Even Jane and Sophie spent the day on the roof with us. Jane helped out by handing down shingles and Sophie held the shingles in place so we could nail them in. ;-)

We started the front side at about 11am and finished around 2pm. We just took it easy and didn't try to go too fast. We still have the very top to finish but we are going to start the other side first. That way the shingles will be off the top when we start the top.

We are also going to make some rake shingles to put on the rake of the roof. That should make it look much better than just having the metal up there.

Boy, I can't wait for it to be finished. I'm wiped out.

Msg:#1191 of 1362Date:2008-12-26Subj:Merry Christmas

Hey everybody, Merry Christmas!

We had a small Christmas this year, just a few friends over.  Turkey, stuffing, and a few extras.  It was nice.  I'm back to work already, but our guests are still here till the weekend.  Randy has been here all week.  It's been cool.

It's been snowing and raining here this year.  Nothing too bad, but it's really cold out.  13° last night.  There is a cold wind today.

Didn't get a chance to go wheeling this year.  Still working out the issues with my engine.  I have a bunch of gaskets here now that I want to start putting on soon.  Maybe this weekend I'll pull the engine out and start that process.  I tried to find someone to pay to do it, but nobody wants to work on it I guess.  No big deal.  I'll save about $500 doing it myself.

Well, I guess I should get back to work.

I decided to calculate how much I work by how much I don't.

I get about 60 hours a week R&R.  R&R means not working.  I'm currently working 108 hours a week.  Wow.

That's OK.  I'll be good by summer.

I like this:

"Essentially ANY military function is a security issue. For a person with any level of IT expertise to put such functions on Windows platforms is, IMHO, either a level of incompetence suitable for dishonorable discharge or of malice meeting the definition of treason."

Msg:#1188 of 1362Date:2008-11-13Subj:Junk Mail

Junk mail is funny. Both on the computer and in real life.

I get lots of junk mail. 1000's per week in my email, and 100's a month in my mail box. Most of it doesn't even make any sense.

Junk mail in my mail box is even funnies. I get my junk mail, my mom's junk mail, my dad's junk mail, my brother and sister's junk mail, some guy that was married to my aunt for like a month's junk mail, and some guy named Current Resident.

I don't know know why I'm getting other peoples mail that don't even live here. I guess those credit card companies are really hurting for money right now. They will send mail to anyone and everyone and any address they can parse.

Stupid banks.

I signed up for a service to stop junk mail coming to me. So pretty much, I personally don't get any junk mail in my name. It's all to other people and family.

I would add the URL to the service that I used, but I can't remember what it is. It's been a year. All well.

Msg:#1187 of 1362Date:2008-11-05Subj:Injector Pump

So I drug the WZ up to Fordyce, unloaded, drove in about half a mile, and found fuel pouring out of my injector pump. Gesh.

So I have some new o-rings and gaskets on their way for an injector pump rebuild.

Next....

Got the sides put on the Zuk today. They are looking great! Almost ready for Fordyce next weekend.

Msg:#1185 of 1362Date:2008-10-16Subj:Every Year - Water Pipe Issues

Yep, every year we have a water pipe issue. This year is no different.

So I turned the water off, dug the hole, replace the pipe, turned the water back on, still leaks, turn water off, capped the stinking thing and turned the water back on.

I'll fix it later.... Friday/Sunday maybe.

Msg:#1184 of 1362Date:2008-09-30Subj:Found it!

Found the problem with my Wicked Zuk. The oil cooler had a leak and is pumping oil into the water system. Gesh. New oil cooler is on it's way and I'm going wheeling next weekend! woohooo!

Msg:#1183 of 1362Date:2008-09-22Subj:Wheeling yesterday!

So dad and I took the WZ out wheeling yesterday. We didn't to a lot, just drop to the top of the mountain and back. About half way the water blew out the overflow, but I brought extra water because I knew it would happen. I think the problem is pressure and not heat. The hoses were not hot, and the temp gauge was not showing hot. I think that because there is something wrong in the block somewhere, it's putting pressure into the water system.

There is still oil pumping into the water system, but I'm driving it anyway. Just have to stop once in a while and put more water in it. ;-)

Anyway, gotta do more work.
